Homemade Applesauce

Displaying IMG_2603.JPG

It’s the first snowfall of winter! On these types of days all I want to do is cook and bake. Anything from brownies, biscuits, pancakes to one of my favorites -homemade applesauce. Making applesauce is easy, quick, and goes great with ice cream. It also makes you feel like JC Wiatt in the 1987 film Baby Boom.

Enjoy my recipe for homemade applesauce.

Ingredients:

8-10 red apples -peeled, cored, and quartered

1/2 cup water

1 cinnamon stick

1 Tbs. lemon juice

1/2 cup sugar

1 Tbs. butter

Directions:

  1. In a sauce pan, combine apples, water, cinnamon stick, and lemon juice. Bring ingredients to a boil.
  2. Then, cover reduce heat, and simmer over medium for 20 minutes.
  3. Remove cinnamon stick and stir in sugar and butter.
  4. Mash well.

Enjoy!

xoxo,

Megan
