Throughout my life, I have always been a person who was big on volunteering and giving back. Today, that love is still there and I wanted to share it with others. So, this year I decided to commit myself to giving back at least once every month. Each month, I am going to pick a charity and donate either time or money. Then, I will tell about my month’s adventures in a blog series, Goodness Gracious.
I hope you join me in this challenge. 12 months, 12 charities, 12 times to give back. Now, when there is so much hate in the world, let’s promote love and kindness. Goodness Gracious, think of all the change we can make!
When it comes to choosing the charity to give back to, I listen to whatever is on my heart at that time. For January, I chose my local humane society, the Forsyth Humane Society. As an avid animal lover, this organization seemed like the perfect fit. I have volunteered here before and loved it! The Forsyth Humane Society’s mission is to provide loving homes to all cats and dogs, to provide needed resources to the pet community, and more. One of my all-time favorite stories relating to the organization is from this past holiday season. An anonymous donor paid for the adoption fees for all animals and in return, all the animals found loving homes for the holidays.
Trust me, there is nothing better than having a furry friend in your life. Join me in supporting your local humane society before the month ends.
